Jewelry Care
A word on brass and sterling silver metals:
To stay environmental conscious we don’t use any chemical lacquer or sealant on our jewelry. There is a natural patina (darkening/antiquing) of the metal that occurs over time. Some really enjoy the beauty of this natural process, and others prefer their jewelry to stay sparkly golden or silver. If you are the latter, please use a polishing cloth after each use, place jewelry in sealed bag and avoid prolonged exposures to water or moisture.
For polishing brass and copper metals, the lemon juice home remedy is my goto. For this method, apply lemon juice to jewelry, rinse in warm water and dry thoroughly. There are also brass and copper cleaning compounds that can be found online or in specialty shops.
Everyone's body chemistry and reaction to metals are different, beautifully so. Because of this we unfortunately can't predict your own body’s reactions, but I do make the jewelry with the intention to last. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me!
All the brass I use is Jeweler's Brass aka Nu Gold aka Red Brass which is the most golden and commonly used brass for jewelry specifically. It is an alloy of 85% copper and 15% zinc.
